Lisa Chippi, performer and choreographer, studied dance for 10 years at Crooked Tree Arts Center in Petoskey,
Michigan before graduating from Harbor Springs High School in 2010. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor of
Fine Arts in Dance Performance at the University of Michigan. During her time at UM, she has worked closely with
professionals Peter Sparling, Bill De Young, Amy Chavasse, Judy Rice, Jessica Fogel, Amy West and Melissa Beck
and master classes from guest artists such as Julie Tice, Rodger Belman and professionals from Cloud Gate
Theatre of Taiwan and The Paul Taylor Dance Company. She has been selected to perform in various guest artist
pieces, including a re-staging of Merce Cunningham’s works (Cunningham Minevent 2011), an original dance
theatre work choreographed by Diane McIntyre (The Summit 2011), as well as an original work (Forest Through the
Trees 2012) and site specific work choreographed by Peter Sparling. This year, Lisa and her classmate Lynsey
Colden co-created a duet (The precision of nearly missing 2011) that was chosen to be performed at the American
College Dance Festival this past April at Grand Valley State University. The piece was then chosen to be performed
again in the Gala Concert. This summer, Lisa is attending Larry Keigwin’s “Let’s Make a Dance,” summer intensive
in New York.
Hannah Bianchi began studying ballet at age three at Academie de Ballet in Chesapeake, Virginia. In 2004 she
moved to Northern Michigan where she continued her dance training under the direction of Heather Raue at the
Crooked Tree Arts Center. Hannah also had the pleasure of assistant teaching with Ms. Raue for six years. She
attended summer programs with The Kirov Academy of Ballet, Joffrey Midwest, Deeply Rooted Dance Theater and
the Ailey School. In 2011 she was invited to join Deeply Rooted Dance Theater's second company. In September,
Hannah moved to Chicago and is very excited to train and work with Deeply Rooted. She has continued teaching
dance with ARCC Ballet and Dance. Hannah would like to thank everyone who has made her dance career
possible.
Guest Instructors
Stephanie Overton is a graduate of the University of Michigan's Department of Dance. She has performed in the
work of Martha Graham, Peter Sparling, Jessica Fogel, Amy Chavasse, and Daniel Gwirtzman, and trained
intensively with Souleymane Badolo in Burkina Faso, West Africa.  As a guest instructor she has visited the
University of Vermont, the Burklyn Ballet Theater 2010 Summer Intensive, Northwestern Michigan College, and
Alma College. Her movement background involves elements of modern dance, West African dance, improvisation,
martial arts, yoga, and ballet. Through a combination of athletic movement, extensive floorwork, and attention to
interior alignment, her classes emphasize rhythm, momentum, and energy management.
Ava Chatterson began dancing at the Flint School of Performing Arts in Flint, MI.  She continued her training at
Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington, IN, where she graduated with a degree in Ballet and
Legal Studies.  While there she performed leading and soloist roles in Les Sylphides, Napoli Divertissements,
George Balanchine’s Walpurgisnacht, The Nutcracker, and Cinderella.  Ava also trained at the Pittsburgh Ballet
Theatre School in Pittsburgh, PA, where she performed ballets such as Balanchine’s Serenade (Russian Girl), La
Vivandiere Pas de Six, Etudes, and in works by Viktor Plotnikov and Dwight Rhoden.  She also appeared with the
Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre in productions of The Nutcracker, Cinderella, The Sleeping Beauty, and Swan Lake.
While at Sacramento Ballet, Ava has enjoyed dancing in George Balanchine's The Four Temperaments (Choleric),
Stars and Stripes (Lead Girl in 2nd Campaign), Serenade (Dark Angel), Trey McIntyre's Second Before the Ground,
Ron Cunningham's Cinderella (Fairy Godmother), Darrell Moultrie's Jazzin' (Takin' No Mess) as well as appearing
in Fluctuating Hemlines, Bolero, Celts, Concerto Barocco, Romeo and Juliet, Dracula, and The Nutcracker.
